DESIGN _______muuto talent award

I just received a mail about the winner in Muuto talent award. For the sixt time Muuto has hosted the annual competition where talents from the Nordic design schools are encouraged to submit an entry where they express their own story while providing a perspective on a Muuto product.

The 1st place went to Finnish designer Tuomas Auvinen from Lahti University of Applied Sciences, for his 45° lamp. The shape of 45° allows it to hang from the ceiling, lie on the floor or be placed in the corner where the ceiling and the wall meet, which gives it a multi-functionality that is hard to compete with. 45°is capable of exploiting the spaces that are somewhat used less, and more than other interiors it almost becomes part of the room or buildning, which creates a certain magic.

MONDAY SNAPSHOTS ____________delight studios

Last Friday I visited Therese Sennerholt in her office (for some chatter and coffee) that is in the famous Delight studios. But the day became instead a fun and creative photo day where we took amazing pictures of both of us. Therese brought the white balloons and I took my camera with me. Here is the first part of the images that we photographed in Delight studios where "all the magic happens".

/Big thanks to Delight Studios.

ONEPIC. ______________ #stylingcompetition

If you are in instagram there's a hashtag you don´t wanna miss. It began with an innocent styling competition between Lotta Agaton and her art director. But has grown into a giant contest where even Sweden's best art direcor Therese Sennerholt and American blogger A merry mishap who runs one of America's most popular life style blogs are in the race! But despite the name (styling competition) it is only a creative game between great talent´s showing a new styled picture everyday. Search with hashtag #stylingcompetition and see all great contributions yourself! My instagram is @annaleenashem.

LIFE ______________ bianco cordo

I love using various natural elements in the interior such as wood and natur stone. These materials has the ability to soften minimalist decor and make it look luxury! My longtime stone favorite has been marble but I like granite now even more. At this time of writing we are renovating the bathroom in the house we live in. The budjet the for renovation was small so I was really lucky when I found light granite /Bianco Cordo/ from the tile shop for a affordable price. The size of the granite is 61x30 cm and for the walls we will use white glossy floor tiles size 20x40.

ps. I´m making small changes for my blog´s layout in the coming weeks so thanks in advance for your patience during this time.

INTERIOR ______________ temporary home

Here comes a sneak peek from our new home. The white book shelves that we did before the move are hanging now in our new livingroom.  Moving takes time and It has taken a lot of time to organize our move from a large house to a smaller, from a small town in the west coast to a bigger city Stockholm in the east coast! But the most positive thing with our move was that we cleared our home from all unnecessary things, I´m very happy for that! Although we will stay in this temporary white home for a short period before our own house is ready (that we will start to build hopefully this year) we really enjoy living here!

INSPIRATION________ #2014sdw

Tomorrow begins Stockholm furniture fair and Stockholm design week. And I have high expectations for this year's furniture fair. I look forward to see the installation of this year´s guest of honor GamFratesi and listen to the Stockholm design talks "Moving forward"  that will be new element for this year. The whole design week is packed with various press events, socializing, dinners and meetings but the thing that I look forward mostly is just strolling around the fair and take pictures of the hottest designs to my blog. One of my favorite designers Norm architects will launch many new products as this wall clock in green marble with brass hand for Menu. And I think that watches will become one of the biggest trends this upcoming year. I still miss this year at the fair the Stockholm-based design studio Humans since 1982 that I wish would exhibit at the Furniture Fair. But we can always enjoy of their creativity here.

MINIMALISM ______ diagonal shelf

We are moving this weekend and you can imagine how busy I am right now. But I wanted to take the time and post these pictures on a shelf we did before christmas to our new home. They remind the stunning shelfs Victor Vasilev has designed.
From a particular angle, this construction looks nothing like a bookshelf, but rather a minimalistic art installation. As the shelves are constructed diagonally, you can see the things from one side only. This hidden/art interior design is just the kind of interior that I love right now.
