Tomorrow begins Stockholm furniture fair and Stockholm design week. And I have high expectations for this year's furniture fair. I look forward to see the installation of this year´s guest of honor GamFratesi and listen to the Stockholm design talks "Moving forward" that will be new element for this year. The whole design week is packed with various press events, socializing, dinners and meetings but the thing that I look forward mostly is just strolling around the fair and take pictures of the hottest designs to my blog. One of my favorite designers Norm architects will launch many new products as this wall clock in green marble with brass hand for Menu. And I think that watches will become one of the biggest trends this upcoming year. I still miss this year at the fair the Stockholm-based design studio Humans since 1982 that I wish would exhibit at the Furniture Fair. But we can always enjoy of their creativity here.

MINIMALISM ______ diagonal shelf
We are moving this weekend and you can imagine how busy I am right now. But I wanted to take the time and post these pictures on a shelf we did before christmas to our new home. They remind the stunning shelfs Victor Vasilev has designed.
From a particular angle, this construction looks nothing like a bookshelf, but rather a minimalistic art installation. As the shelves are constructed diagonally, you can see the things from one side only. This hidden/art interior design is just the kind of interior that I love right now.

END AND BEGINNING
Happy new year dear blog readers! I belive that 2014 is going to be a great interior year, year of new styles and darker colours. This new year also means big changes for me personally and as you know one of them is that I'm moving to Stockholm. But I've also decided to shut down my own annaleena web store indefinitely and I will focus on selling my design only through retailers now. I will make a new website in the spring where you can see my design without buying function, but before it´s finished you can find all my retailers in the closed web shop. So all trade of my design is made from now through resellers.

INTERIOR _______ old and new home
I flipped today through my photos that I´ve taken during 2013 and I found these pics from our house. December has been a crazy month and it feels that I´m living right now between two homes or two houses, among all christmas decorations and moving boxes. We´re moving after the new year to Stockholm where we have planned to build a new house. As we made the most ourselves in our this house for 8 years ago, the staircase, kitchen, round firewood storage (my husband is a ambitions builder:) we will build the new house ourselves too. We have started to sketch up the new house and we have found a nice plot to build on. So the next step now is to find a great architect in Stockholm who can draw up our house, can´t wait when the process starts to take off!

DEKO __________ feature/interview
The Finnish interior magazine Deko featured me in their september issue with an really nice article about my style and how I decorate. But because Deko is not available in Sweden I haven´t seen the article until now when I finally got a copy of it. The feature was in Finnish but I think that english version of Deko for the international audience had been success, I love that magazine! But of course we can always enjoy of their english website Scandinavian Deko here.

INSPIRATION. ___________ uh la la
Todays one pic is from the u la la studio in Copenhagen that belongs to the talented Danish ceramicist Julie Bonde. I visited her studio with Emma while we were working in Copenhagen and I was blown away by the beautiful creativity that both she and her studio radiated. Her work makes me think of nature and stones, and she has used nature as a reference point for the pieces, creating glazes and textures that turn them into large, but very tactile pebbles. Love!

DIY _______________ copper/plaster candle holder
For me candle holders are so Christmas and just the thought that it's almost Christmas makes me want to get/make some new ones. So after I saw this cool DIY that Ivania did on her blog with plaster I wanted to do a new candle holder for the Christmas with plaster instead of concrete.
The mold I used for pouring the plaster in was just a shoebox cover and the copper tube caps for the lights are from a hardware store, but my previous candleholder that I did with hexagon nuts (here) could also work. All you need is,
/a shoebox cover
/plaster
/copper tube caps size 2,2
/plastic wrap
/sand paper
/Cover the shoebox cover with plastic wrap to make it waterproof and to get the plaster out of the mold when it is dry.
/Plan in advance where you want your candle holders (copper tube caps) to be.
/Blend your plaster mixture and pour it into the mold. I used for this 9 dl plaster and 3 dl water.
/Press gently the copper tube caps in the plaster mix.
/Let it dry for at least 2 hours. Use sandpaper to smooth the edges if needed.
Done!
